Obituary of Doris Weyers

Doris E. Weyers passed away Saturday July 20, 2013 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born in Lockport on September 9, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Elizabeth Wholbreck Snyder. Doris worked at the Farm Credit Service in Lockport as a secretary and office manager for 25 years, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed working in her garden taking care of her flowers. Doris is predeceased by her husband Russell E. Weyers, who passed away April 2, 2003. Doris was the mother of Joann (Arthur) Ritter of Lockport, Carol (Tom) Gominiak of NC, Jim (Colette) Weyers of Newfane and the late David Weyers. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Doris is predeceased by her four brothers and is survived by several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 1 PM in St. Brendan on the Lake Newfane, 3455 Ewings Road, Newfane, NY. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lockport. Memorials to DeSales Catholic School, 6914 Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport, NY 14094, would be appreciated by the family.
