William H. Schmeelke passed away June 21, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in New York City on August 4, 1946 he was the son of William H. and Edna (Woehrle) Schmeelke. William served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968 earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He worked for Wegmans Supermarkets in Buffalo in the maintenance department.
William is survived by his wife of 43 years, Elsie (Lancto) Schmeelke of Lockport; father of William (Kathy) Schmeelke, Julie (Thomas) Schmeelke Eisele, Lisa Schmeellke all of Rochester, Christopher (Margo) Schmeelke of Lockport and Keith (Ronda) Schmeelke of Delvin, NY; grandfather of sixteen and great grandfather of two.
