David Wayne Erickson passed away November 25, 2009 in Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital, Buffalo. Born February 21, 1956 in the town of Tonawanda, he was the son of Cedric and Ivena (nee Wright) Erickson. David served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He worked for the US Postal Service for 34 years, most recently as the customer service Supervisor for the Lockport Post Office. David enjoyed sports, was a Civil War re-enactor and was an avid animal lover especially dogs. Many will remember him as "Dave from Lockport" from his frequent calls to local radio stations.
David is survived by his wife Lisa (nee Sinkovitz) Erickson of Lockport; father of Carl (Tina Miller) Erickson, Sara (Ian Gladysek) Erickson both of Buffalo and Miles Erickson of Lockport; grandfather of Xavier Erickson and Weston Gladysek; brother of Dennis (Amy) Erickson of Buffalo and Bonnie (Robert) Hobday of Honeoye Falls; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday 1 to 5 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where funeral services will be held Monday at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to the American Heart Association or to the Niagara County SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
