Obituary of Sandra Lea Haber
Sandra was born in Lockport on May 17, 1938, to Francis (Spalding) and George Sherman. She passed away on May 6, 2022, after a short illness.
A graduate of Marietta College, Sandra was a committed educator and taught for more than 25 years in the Lockport Public School system.
She was an active member of the New Century Club, the Eastern Niagara County Retired Teachers Association, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Key Women Educators and a past president of Lockport Women’s College Club.
Sandra was also a congregant in the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, where she played in the bell choir for several years and did volunteer work at the Niagara County Historical Society and Kennan Center.
She spent many happy summers at her home in the Thousand Islands with her friends on Wellesley Island where she also did volunteer work at the Minna Anthony Nature Center.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Paul Haber, her children Lea Haber Kuck (Thomas), Ann Haber, and Christopher Haber, her grandchildren Elizabeth Koplas, Samuel Koplas, Henry Kuck and Julia Kuck, as well as her beloved golden retriever Jake.
Calling hours on Tuesday, May from 3-7 pm at Prudden & Kandt Funeral service at 11 am on Wednesday at Prudden & Kandt.
