Obituary of Richard M. Hartz

Richard M. Hartz passed away May 30, 2019.  Born July 14, 1925 in Newfane he was the son of George and Jessie (Rowland) Hartz.  Richard served in the US Air Force from 1943-1946 earning the American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.  He worked as painter before working at Harrison Radiator Div of GM where he was a foreman, and owned both the Cabin Range in Newfane and Carriage Realty.  Richard was a member of the NRA, Rapids Gun Club, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, going to the casino and playing cards.

Richard is survived by his wife of 50 years Janine (Magonette) Hartz; children Janine B. Hartz, Alan G. Hartz, Martin R. Hartz, David Keller, and late Robert (Joanne) Keller; six grandchildren and three great; bothers late James and William Kirchner; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 3rd from 3-6 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 4th at 11 AM.  Interment will be in Stahler Cemetery.  Online condolences at www.pruddenandkandt.com.
