Obituary of Audrey Zolyome
Audrey S. Zolyome, 89, passed away May 4, 2018 in Lockport Rehab & Health Care Center. Born in Lockport on July 2, 1928 she was the daughter of Theodore and Mae (Swigert) Smith. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Audrey was employed by Bell Atlantic (NYNEX, Verizon) for 33 years, retiring in 1982 as a Business Office Supervisor. She served on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and the YWCA where she also served as vice president. In 1982, Audrey was the recipient of the International Women’s Decade Award in the field of Management.
Audrey is survived by her husband, Edward A. Zolyome; step-daughter Sheila A. Elliott; four step-grandchildren; brother-in-law Elmer (late Betty) Zolyome; niece Amy (Carl) Bellegia; nephews Scott Zolyome, Charles (Pauline) Smith and Lynn (Susan) Smith; several great nieces and nephews.
