Howard R. Finch, Jr., resident of Newfane for 28 years, passed away June 13, 2012 in Niagara Hospice House. Born November 11, 1949 in Catskill, NY he is the son of Howard R. "Rip" and Gladys (McCarthy) Finch, Sr. Howard served in the US Navy from 1968 to 1972 and was Vietnam for two of those years where he was part of the construction battalion of the US Navy for the CB's. He was a journeyman lineman and a welder being a member of the IBEW Local #1249 based out of Syracuse and retired after 44 years. Howard was a member of the AOPA and the Wilson Tuscarora Yacht Club and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Besides his parents Howard is survived by his wife, of 34 years whom he married in Lockport, Wenda (Wheaton) Finch of Newfane; father of Nadine (Kyle Sturgess) Finch of Victor, NY, Adam (Sarah) Finch of Lockport, and Matthew Finch of Newfane; grandfather of Isabella Finch; brother of Kathryn (Roy) Allen and Bonnie Rychlik; also several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, June 15 from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16 at 11 AM.
