James E. Schlegel passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 2026. He was born on April 22, 1948 in Lockport, NY a son of Harry and Virginia (Jones) Schlegel. Jim proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a production worker for 34 years for Harrison Radiator in Lockport, NY. Jim was a member of the Moose Club. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and working on cars, causing mischief but most of all spending time with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his children Lisa (Jerry) Herrera, James Schlegel Jr., Jamie (Lori) Schlegel, Crystal Tyes, Garrett (Kristina) Beverly; grandchildren Andrew, Austin, Cierra, Brooklynn, Emilia and Gage; sister Sandra Morse, furry companions Booster and Cosmo. He was predeceased by his brother Gary Schlegel.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday September 2, 2026 from 4-7PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home 242 Genesee Street Lockport, NY where military honors will be accorded at 7PM.
