Marilyn W. Freeman Obituary
Marilyn W. Freeman passed away July 29, 2026 in Our Lady of Peace Health Care Facility. Born June 27, 1936 in Lockport she was the daughter of the late Leonard M. and Edna L. (Bodie) Wood. Marilyn worked for the Niagara County Board of Elections in Lockport where she was a secretary. She volunteered with Niagara Hospice, Odd Fellows Health Care Facility, and Eastern Niagara Hospital. Marilyn was a member of the Lockport Lions Club, where she also served as a past president. She was a Buffalo Bills and NY Yankees fan. Throughout her youth she participated in exhibition dancing with her brother Donald, Marilyn loved to dance. She was avid golfer and played softball with her two daughters and daughter-in-law.
Marilyn is survived by her children Tammy (Michael) Steen, Jeffrey (Paula) Miller, and Marilyn (Scott) Dinse; grandchildren Madeline and Emily Steen, Brenna (Christopher) Baxter, Erin (Steven) Maciejewski, Alexander and Isabel Dinse; great grandchildren Leyden and Brogan Baxter. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her husbands Stephen Sacca and Norman Freeman, and her brother Donald Wood.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation Friday, July 31st from 4-7 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1st at 10 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 7145 Fieldcrest Dr., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
