James W. Currie passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 26th, 2026. Born on July 29th,1941 in Detroit, Michigan, Jim was the son of the late John and Marjorie (Cookson) Currie. Jim was the owner and President of Ag-Pak Inc. and Lobee Pump and Machinery Company. He was also active in the Lockport Rotary Club, Kenan Center Executive Board, First Niagara Bank Board of Directors, and the Old Fort Niagara Association Board of Directors.

Jim was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Mary for sixty-one years, a dedicated father who lovingly raised three sons, and a doting grandpa who loved spending time with his grandchildren. During his free time, he enjoyed playing tennis and golf, attending performing arts shows, and mowing the lawn. Jim’s famous whiskey sours and blueberry pancakes were generously served and loved by all.

Jim is survived by his wife Mary Currie; sons David (Paula) Currie, Stephen (Teresa Burk) Currie, Andrew (Angela) Currie; and grandchildren Isabella, Sophia, Josephine, and Justin Currie as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brother Robert Currie.

Visitation will be held Friday 3-6 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 1st at 10 AM in First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church Street, Lockport.  Interment will be at Cold Springs Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations made to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
