Barbara A. Yount passed away May 8, 2026 under the care of her loving husband and Niagara Hospice.  Born July 28, 1959 in Buffalo she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Durkin) Hurley.  Barbara worked for 27 years with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Buffalo. 

Barbara is survived by her husband of 45 years Sheldon H. Yount; children Matthew (Paula) Yount, Evan (Vanya) Yount, and Kerry (Jacob) Schunk; grandchildren Tyler and Justin Yount, Genevieve and Annabelle Schunk; siblings Patrick (Margaret) Hurley and Anne Hurley.   She was preceded in death by her siblings Denis Hurley, Mary Jo Conrad and Suzanne Hurley.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of her life on Friday May 15th from 4-7 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.  

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 16th at 10 AM in Christ Episcopal Church, located at 7145 Fieldcrest Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.  Interment will follow at the Cold Spring Cemetery.  

In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Church would be appreciated by the family.
