Nancy C. Smith passed away May 6, 2026, in Elderwood of Williamsville. Born February 4, 1943 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Florence (Witkop) Covel. Nancy worked for the Lockport Union Sun & Journal where she was a proofreader, and for the Lockport City School District where she was a Teacher’s Aide. She also worked for the Niagara County Board of Elections where she was an Elections Clerk. Nancy’s favorite position was as a retiree and serving as a full-time Grandma to her granddaughter, Ainsleigh. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and dogs (Kingston and Angel). Nancy was a lifelong member of Rapids Bible Church.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Dawn (R. Scott) DeLuca and her granddaughter Ainsleigh DeLuca. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Warren “Clip” Smith and brother Kevin Covel.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation Saturday, May 9th from 10-11 AM with services immediately following at 11 AM at Lockport Alliance Church, 555 Davison Rd., Lockport.
