Ellen M. Kander passed away April 16, 2026 at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, Rochester, NY.  Born January 9, 1943 in Lockport she was the daughter of John W. and Dorothy (Shaver) Haenle.  Ellen worked for Lockport Savings Bank where she was a Senior Personal Banker.  She was a member of the Lockport Town & Country Club and served as president of The Common.  Ellen enjoyed traveling, playing cards, spending time with her grandsons and going out with friends. 

Ellen is survived by her son Kristopher M. (Kristine) Kander; grandsons Jack and Max; brothers Michael (Vicki) Haenle and Mark (Jeannie Goff) Haenle; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband John C. “Jack” Kander and brother Jack (late Marge) Haenle.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation Wednesday, April 22nd from 4-7 PM at Prudden And Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 23rd at 10 AM at All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport.  In Lieu of flowers memorials to St. Jude Childrens Hospital would be appreciated by the family, link is below.
