Morris G. Moran Obituary

Morris G. Moran passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2026, in Northgate Health Care Facility.  Born August 22, 1928, in Niagara Falls, NY. He was the son of Walter and Marie (Kraft) Moran.  Morris proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1946 to 1948 and again from 1950 to 1952. Serving in WWII and the Koren War. After his service, he worked at several jobs and then for Harrison Radiator Div of GM in production retiring in 1989. 


He raised a family with his late wife, Geraldine (Ziegler) Moran, who passed in 1997, taking care of her until she passed. Then he went on many adventures with his second late wife, Margaret (Sturgess) Moran who passed in 2023.


Morris enjoyed going out to eat in Newfane at Gordie Harpers. Spending time with his family and eating out at several local establishments. 


He was a member of the American Legion, Eastern star, Free and Accepted Masons Red Jacket Lodge 646. He traveled and attended many events and served as District Grand Lecturer.


Morris is survived by his daughter Wendy (James) Tagg; Grandchildren Anna (John) Kirsch, Shawn (Christian) Lawton, Tara (Jeffrey) Naylor, Sara Tagg, and Brian (Jessica) Tagg; Siblings Gordon (Claudette) Moran and Linda (David) Diel. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


He is predeceased by his daughter Debra (Late Jerry) Lawton and siblings Warren (Late Carol) Moran, Earl (Late Florence) Moran, Marilyn (late Kenneth) Rosseau. 


Relatives and Friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 15th, 2026, from 1PM-4PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St, Lockport. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16th, at 10AM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home. Interment in Cold Spring Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
