Lois E. Ark Obituary

Lois Evaline (Danser) Ark, 91, of Lockport New York, went home with the Lord on March 5, 2026 at home, surrounded by her family, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Lois was born November 28th 1934, in Clarence NY, to the late Alonzo and Amelia (Betcher) Danser. Lois grew up on a farm with her twelve siblings and learned the value of hard work very early in life. She was the devoted mother to her two sons, Gerald and Douglas Ark. She retired from General Motors in Lockport, New York, after many years of dedicated service. She was an independent woman and took pride in caring for her home, where she kept busy until her final days. She spent her retirement traveling, attending events at Schiller Park Senior Center, celebrating holidays with family and attending her yearly Danser Family Reunion. In her quiet time, she loved to read, listen to country music, tend to her vast flower gardens and have Saturday night phone calls with her sister Violet.

She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Maria) Ark of Kenmore and Gerald (Linda) Ark of Gasport; her grandchildren Stephanie Ark of Lockport, Christopher Ark of Gasport and Anthony Ark of Gasport; her sister, Violet (Lester) Francis of Akron; her sister in-law Barbara (Donald) Danser of Ohio; and her nephew Daniel (Ann) Spears of Clarence; She is also survived by her great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her beloved brothers and sisters, her loving companion, William (Bill) O’lear of Cheektowaga and her great granddaughter Sophia Maire Harris of Lockport.

Private services arranged by family at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend William Cuthbertson. In lieu of flowers, donations to Niagara Hospice are appreciated. Their devotion to compassionate care, with dignity, is truly immeasurable.
