Mary Rose Gardepe entered into eternal rest March 5th, 2026 at the age of 88.  Mosie was born in Lockport, NY on July 30th, 1937 to James McGonigle and Madalyn McGonigle Knowles.  Mosie married George Victor Gardepe on October 6th, 1957 and they were together for 61 years before his death in January of 2018.

Besides her parents and her husband, Mosie was predeceased by a daughter Julie Granchelli, a sister Julie Sherwood, and a grandchild Kristie Upton.

Mosie is survived by her children Michael (Melody), Steven (Brenda), Matthew (Christine Rickard), and a son-in-law James Granchelli, 12 grandchildren, Shannon (Jason) Mahnke, Meghann (Joshua) Fiegl, Mitchell (Alexandra) Gardepe, Re'Anne (Daniel) Daylamani, Jaime (Nick) Darling, Joseph (Britini) Granchelli, Patrick Granchelli, Michaela (Ferenc) Markos, Victoria (Craig) Bernstein, James Granchelli ll, Tylar Gardepe, Madison Gardepe, and 13 great-grandchildren with 3 more due summer 2026, and 1 great-great grandchild. Also survived by a sister, Linda (late Ray) Boyer, and 2 brothers-in law Edward Gardepe and Daniel Sherwood, and many nieces and nephews.

Vic and Mosie lived in Lockport for most of their lives where she was mostly a stay-at-home Mom to their 4 children. She enjoyed spending time on the family boat, making baby clothes and blankets for the grandchildren, listening to Neil Diamond, and spending time with family and friends. After Vic's retirement they then spent their summers at their cottage, the "Green Bagel", on the lake in Lyndonville, NY and were snowbirds in Sarasota, FLA for many years until they moved back to NY permanently in 2016 to be closer to family. She was the co-owner of Brides Choice and worked at AM&A's in the jewelry department. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her sense of humor and her quick wit.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heritage Manor for their kind and compassionate care for Mosie over the last 9 years.
