Q: What will you miss most about Joseph? A: As kids we loved to get into trouble. In winter, mostly at night, we would throw snowballs at passing cars. I was my brother's snowball maker. Youge was excellent at hitting the cars. He once said to me that each snowball got bigger and bigger as we expedited the hits. We had so much fun. I loved him so much! I regret our estrangement. I hope to see him again when it is my time. Love you my dearest brother! David

The grief I feel at the loss of my brother Joe is complicated and deeply personal. He was my first sibling and my very first friend. Even though we had grown apart over the years and life carried us down different paths, he was still someone I once laughed and argued with while sharing a childhood full of memories. The distance that once felt so large suddenly feels very small. The pieces of him will always be a part of my story. No matter how much time or silence stood between us, the bond of being his big sister never disappeared. Rest peacefully my brother. Your memory remains in the quiet space you have in my heart.
