John Gordon Gottman was born on May 27, 1965 in Buffalo, New York to the late Gordon (aka Jim) Gottman and Carol Suits. He passed away on January 26th in Clearwater, Florida.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Carol Gottman and his loving sister, Marjorie Strobel both of Lockport, NY. He is lovingly remembered by his nieces, Emily and Sarah Strobel in addition to many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

He earned his Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and later earned his Masters Degree in Business from DePaul University.

He spent the first 12 years of his career at RR Donnelley Financial working in New York City, Chicago, Hong Kong and Boston. He spent the last 20 years of his career at Merrill Lynch as a Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor in New York City.

He was known for his adventurous travels to more counties than even he imagined he would go. His warm and contagious smile let him make friends wherever he went.  After he retired, he took a renewed interest in art, cruising and gardening.

John will be remembered for his compassion, intelligence, kindness and loving nature.  We are comforted knowing he will be reunited with his Dad in heaven.  He will be deeply missed.
