Joan A. (Stevens) Glynn passed away February 17, 2026 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on June 4, 1944 she was a daughter of the late Arthur Gordon and Gertrude E. (Stoll) Stevens.
Joan was a 1962 graduate of DeSales Catholic High School. On June 26, 1965 Joan married her high school sweetheart, Fred, at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Lockport, and shortly after that they began their family together. Joan was first and foremost a homemaker who filled the family home with patience, love, and faith as their five children grew older. Later in her life, she enjoyed gift wrapping at the Bon-Ton department store during the Christmas season and working in the Lockport City School District as a cafeteria monitor and main office assistant. She provided years of loving childcare for her grandchildren and treasured every moment of it.
Joan was best known as a proud matriarch of many and for creating special bonds with many friends. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren by vacationing with them, and attending their athletic events, recitals, graduations, school activities, religious sacraments, birthdays, and other celebrations. She always enjoyed holiday time with family. Her home decorating skills were impeccable, and she especially enjoyed holiday decorating both inside and outside creating beautiful displays. She burst with pride over her children and grandchildren all of whom will miss her deeply.
Joan and Fred loved engaging in social events with special groups of friends and traveling with them was a highlight in their life together. They were both loved by their children’s and grandchildren' s friends.
Joan is survived by her five loving children Michelle (Brian) Bradley, Sharon (Gregory) Saraf, Sean (Barbara) Glynn, Susan (Robert) Brooks, and Tara (Michael) Wasik; thirteen grandchildren who adored her, Emily (Eddy Wyzykowski), Erica and Elizabeth Bradley, Alexis, Arianna, and Cole Saraf, Alex, Brody, and Chase Glynn, Zachary, Joshua, and Jacob Brooks, and Natalie Wasik; one great grandchild, Bradley Wyzykowski; one special niece, Denise Stevens and many cousins also surviving her. Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Fredrick Glynn and one dear brother, Ronald Stevens.
