William H. Quay passed away January 23, 2026 in Kenmore Mercy Hospital.  Born March 21, 1950 in Altoona, PA he was the son of the late William and Shirley (Fluke) Quay.  He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Arlene (Ortel) Quay.  William is survived by his two sons Richard (Therese) Quay and Steven (Angela) Quay; four grandsons Devin, Nathan, Andrew, and Alex; and two sisters Pamela (William) Plecker and Brenda (David) Hidalgo.  William will also be missed by his partner Dar Moleski. 

William worked for Trico Products in Buffalo.  Once Trico Products relocated to Mexico he worked for Fisher Price and then retired from Carborundum where he was a Tool & Die maker.  He enjoyed drag racing his ’64 Thunderbolt at Lancaster Speedway, served as Race Director of the Gasser Racing Series, and served as Technical Advisor of the Cougar Club of America where he also was the vice president.  William also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working on cars, and feeding the birds, deer and squirrels. He spent many weekends showing his beloved '70 428CJ Cougar Eliminator, as well as his family's collection of Mercury Cougars.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation Saturday, February 7th from 12-2 PM with services following at 2 PM all at Prudden And Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.
