Charles Dobbs Obituary

Charles K. Dobbs passed away January 15, 2026 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital surrounded by loved ones.  Born May 2, 1939 in Chattanooga, TN he was a son of the late Charles A. and Minerva (Orange) Dobbs.  Charles served in the US Army from 1957-1966 and worked for M. Wile & Co in Buffalo where he worked in the computer department, eventually becoming the head of the department.  He was a devout Bills fan and talented musician, playing guitar with the band called The Vanishing Breed. He was preceded in death by his first wife of over 50 years, the former Sally Robitaille.


Charles is survived by his wife Elaine (Johnson) Dobbs; children Chuck (Tina) Dobbs, Kelley Dobbs, Chris Dobbs Sr, Jason (Lynn) Dobbs, and Jeremy (Rachel) Dobbs; grandchildren Chelsea (Jack) Jenkins, Ian Dobbs, Charles (Shawna) Dobbs, Laura Dobbs, Michael Dobbs, and Christopher Dobbs Jr; also survived by five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was one of fifteen siblings.


He was also a loving father and grandfather to his bonus family, Dawnelle (Mark) Starr, LeAnn (Jim) Wuendsch, Denise (Patrick) Seiler, Jamie (Nick) Jones, Joshua Lamb, Jacob Lamb, Alexis (Shawn) Kudiba, and three great-grandchildren.


Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, January 19th from 4-7 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.
