John Brandt passed away peacefully December 5, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved, devoted partner, Robin Wittcop.

John was born March 22,1952 to Theresa (Schafer) Brandt and John Brandt. John was the beloved brother to Mary Ann (Roy) Rutherford, James (Melissa) Brandt, Susan (George) Hale, Nancy (Dwayne) Bartlett, Cindy Webb, Joe (Nichole) Brandt, Barbara (Ralph) Sharrow, and Jean (Anthony) Dagonese. 

He was father to Dawn Thompson, Crystal Hale, Johnny Brandt, Jessi (Ryan) Wittcop-Howes, and Whitney (TJ Fulcher) Wittcop. John was Grandpa to Mathias Hoefer, Camdeon Wittcop-Howes, Bryson Wittcop-Howes, Gavin Wittcop-Howes, Faythe Tester, Lalaya Wittcop-Howes and Logan Fulcher.

He was uncle to many nieces and nephews. He loved all of his family dearly.

John enjoyed watching NASCAR, listening to classic rock music, fishing and watching western movies. He never missed watching a Buffalo Bills game or toking on a good one with his friends and family. John had a lifelong love for animals, especially boxers, which he raised over the years. He will be deeply missed by his companion Mya, who remained faithfully by his side until his final moments. 

John will be profoundly missed and forever cherished by his family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at St. Brendan on the Lake in Newfane, NY Saturday, Dec. 13th at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice.
