Ronald L. Grout, age 78, was a loving and dedicated husband and father, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 4, 2025, after a lengthy illness, while under the care of Niagara Hospice at home.  Born in Lockport, NY, he was the son of the late Ralph and Lois (nee Luck) Grout, and brother of the late Roger Grout.  Ronnie was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, being a recipient of the Bronze Star.  He had been employed by Upson Co later becoming Domtar Industries in Lockport and had also been employed by Whiting Door in Akron, NY.  Ronnie was a longtime member of Freedom Church in Lockport, serving as a Deacon.  He enjoyed gardening and was an active member with the Community Garden, woodworking, was a Buffalo Bills fan, and an avid baseball player and a huge fan of the NY Yankees. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Victoria L. (nee VanEpps) Grout, a son Randy (fiancée Sarah) Grout, a daughter Kristen Grout, and several cousins. 

Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St. in Lockport.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, at 10 AM in Freedom Church South 5676 Beattie Ave. in the Town of Lockport.  Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.  Donations to Heritage Christian Services or Hope Center for Freedom Church.
