Betty Jane Malahosky passed away peacefully in her sleep September 18, 2025. Born in Lockport on July 16, 1928 she was a daughter of Frederick and Olive (Brounscheidel) Starkweather. Betty worked for Harrison Radiator Div of GM in production where she met her future spouse of 65 years, the late Joseph Malahosky. She enjoyed knitting and sewing, and especially spending time with her family cherishing her title as “Nana”.
Betty is survived by her children Mary (late Patrick) Feeley, Cindra (Donald) Enzinna, and Mark (Helen) Malahosky; grandchildren Carrie (Dr. Robert) Brawn, Elizabeth (James) Lowery, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Enzinna, Sara (Nicholas Ziemann) Malahosky, Erin Feeley, Lauren (Derek) Lynch, and Nicholas Malahosky; twelve great grandchildren; sister Ruth Chadwick; also several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was predeceased by her sister Dawn Swartout.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 25th at 10 AM at All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society or a hospice in your area would be appreciated by the family.
