Dolores I. Rosenberg Obituary

Dolores Gibson Rosenberg, affectionately known as “Aunt Lori,” of Lockport, New York, passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2025. She was surrounded by her daughter, Lindsey Rosenberg, and her four nieces—Kimberly Berner, Kristin Ervolina, Terra Bannan, and Bailey Fletcher-Snell. She was born on April 25, 1940, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Frances I. (D’Angelo) Gibson, Sr.

Lori will be remembered as a loving, caring woman who always made sure those around her were happy and cared for. She was a fighter with a joyful spirit, and her laughter and calm presence brought comfort to everyone she met. To so many, even beyond her family, she was simply “Aunt Lori”—a steady source of kindness and warmth.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughter, Lindsey. They were inseparable—best friends who did everything together. Lori also had a lifelong love of dogs, and in her later years especially adored her playful “grand dog” Louie, who never left her side.

She loved the simple joys of life: cheering for the Buffalo Bills on Sundays surrounded by family, playing bingo or the slots, knitting washcloths to share with those she loved, and faithfully saying novenas with a prayer list always close at hand. Her playful side shone brightest during family game nights, where her “discard pile” was a running joke, and her stories—always ready, always funny—could light up the room.

Lori was also preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Starkweather. She is survived by her brother, Robert Gibson, Jr., her daughter Lindsey Rosenberg, and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Lori’s generosity, strength, and humor will live on in the countless memories she created and the love she shared so freely. In her honor, donations may be made to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
