Vernon Ray “Corkie” Hamner passed away August 24, 2025. Born in Persinger, WV on October 9, 1946 he was a son of James A. and Genevieve B. (Williams) Hamner. Vernon served in the US Air Force from 1964-1968 and worked in production at Harrison Radiator for 30 years retiring in 2001. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Vernon is survived by his daughter Renee (Timothy) Rabideau; two granddaughters Savana and Jocelyn; brother Garrell (Edith) Hamner and also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Joanne Hamner and siblings Delmas (Melanie)Hamner, Edward Hamner, Beulah (Eugene) Blake, Loretta Tucker, Joyce Kerns, Janice Gwinn, and Ruby Operhall.
