Edward Rankie passed away on June 28th, 2025 at Millard Filmore Suburban Hospital.  Born in Lockport on June 15, 1935, he was the son of the late  Merle and Ruth Gombert Rankie.  Edward worked for 30 years doing maintenance at Harrison Radiator in Lockport, New York. He enjoyed spending his time farming, carpentry, hunting, fishing, the family cabin, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Edward is survived by his wife of 70 years Carol  (Mitchell) Rankie; he was the father of David (Holly) Rankie and Linda (late Kevin) Poss; 6 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren.  Edward is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Fry and several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Tuesday July 1st,  at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St, Lockport, NY 14094.   A Service will be held on Wednesday July 2nd at 10 AM at Acacia Park Cemetery, 4215 Tonawanda Creek Road, North Tonawanda, NY 14120 where interment will follow.  In Lieu of flowers memorials to the Niagara County 4H Beef Program or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
