Obituary of Janet L Osland

Janet Lee Glover Osland went home to be with the Lord, June 27th, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on January 5, 1940 in DeKalb, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Marjorie Blackman Glover.  Janet started her career as a licensed beautician, in DeKalb and enjoyed being the shop manager at Royalty’s House of Beauty, as well as trimming, perming and coloring her customers, kids and grandkids hair. After being relocated from Illinois to Indiana and Michigan; in 1984, she settled in Lockport, New York. Affectionately known to all as “Mrs. O”, Janet was the owner of Care-A-Lot Childcare Center for 20 years, where she made a lasting impact on her childcare “family” with her warm smile, gentle demeanor and loving heart. Janet was a huge Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed watching them play every Sunday, while texting the family chat her cheers and jeers. During her free time she enjoyed crocheting, journaling, reading, gardening, drawing, and bird watching. By far, her proudest accomplishment was being an amazing grandma to her seven grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Kimberlee Kuzara, Kevin (Kirsten) Osland, and Karah (Martin) Krajewski; brothers, Thomas (Nita) Glover and Robert (late Judith) Glover; sister-in-law, Dianne Walter; and Grandchildren, Larkin, Haakon, Lincoln, Evelyn, Foster, Mathiesen, and Sawyer. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday July 6th from 1-4PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home. 242 Genesee St, Lockport, NY 14094.  A Funeral Service will be held on Monday July 7th at 10 AM at Pendleton Center United Methodist Church, 6864 Campbell Blvd, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.  Interment will be at Cold Springs Cemetery, Lockport, NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janet’s honor to The Patricia Allen Fund at Oishei Children’s Hospital.
