Obituary of David Jordan
David Alan Jordan passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, at Buffalo General Hospital after a brief battle with interstitial lung disease.
Born on September 7, 1948, in Niagara Falls, NY, Dave was the second son of the late Fred and Bernice (Johnson) Jordan. The Jordan boys were athletic – playing baseball and football, running track and swimming – but also mischievous, racing (and occasionally crashing) their muscle cars.
After graduating from LaSalle High School in 1966, Dave proudly served with the U.S. Army from 1970 – 1972 in Vietnam. Upon his return, he entered the electrician apprenticeship program with Harrison Radiator, eventually becoming a journeyman electrician and retiring in 2002 after 30 years of service, thousands of miles walked around the plant, and countless cups of coffee.
Dave was an outdoorsman at heart and has the fishing poles and hunting gear to prove it. He loved the Adirondacks and the Ausable River, hunting camp in Short Tract, and riding the lawn mower at the LaSalle Sportsmen’s Club. He kept busy in his retirement, with bowling and golf leagues, and the monthly GM Retirees’ breakfast. He loved breakfast and going to LaPort’s with his son, where his favorite order was two eggs over easy, sausage links, and a blueberry pancake. He lived in the same neighborhood in Lockport for almost 50 years, where he built a wonderful community of neighbors and friends, all of whom are as equally passionate about their yards as he was. He watched the stock market daily (with his dog Bella napping in his lap) and regularly called his daughter to give her updates on her employer’s rising stock price. He is remembered by everyone as a genuinely kind, caring, and giving individual.
In 2017, Dave successfully fought a battle against Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Acute B-Cell Lymphoma thanks to a bone marrow transplant from his sister Beth. We are so grateful to have had 8 extra years with him thanks to the wonderful doctors at Roswell Park and his sister.
Dave is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jan (Terry) Jordan, his daughter Kelli of Raleigh, NC, and son Kevin of Lockport, NY, in addition to brother Fred (Gloria) of Lockport, NY, brother Mike of North Tonawanda, NY, and sister Beth of Scottsville, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, June 20 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A short memorial service will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
