Obituary of Sally M. Lee
Sally Lee passed away peacefully June 10, 2025 at Millard Filmore Hospital. She was born in Niagara Falls as Celestina Margaret Chiasera, the daughter of Austrian/Italian immigrants, Eugene and Josephine (Elia) Chiasera. Sally, as she was always known, legally changed her name in the 70's. In 1947 she married Herbert Lee. In her early years she worked at Woolworths, Lockport Toy Factory where she was known as "Queen of the Yoyos" and decorated cakes at Layer's Bakery. She worked at Mt. View Hospital as a dietary aid most of her later adult life. She loved all animals and nature in general. Sally belonged to a few local clubs and organizations over her 95 years where she made many friends. She enjoyed the out-of-doors, especially walking in what she called "The Estate" almost every day until a few years ago. She was an amateur painter studying with local artists and Niagara Community College. She also loved bird watching and gardening in her backyard.
Surviving is her son, James (Linda) Lee, Granddaughters Sheri (Bruce dec.) Ciemny and Jillian (Rick) Roberts, great grandchildren Brandon Ciemny, Alyssa Ciemny, Carson Ciemny, Elijah Roberts, all of Lockport and Nolan and Evelyn
Roberts of Ottawa, Canada. Also surviving are few nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, husband Herbie, brother Joseph, sister Virginia (Karl) Garlock and great grandchildren Liam and Olivia Roberts.
There will be no visitation. A family graveside inurnment will be held at a later date. We wish to thank the staff at Heritage Manor Assisted Living of Lockport for making Sally's last three years happy, comfortable, caring and loving.
