Obituary of Joan M. Brewer

Joan M. Brewer passed away May 30, 2025 in Buffalo Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing. Born July 20, 1932 in the Town of Tonawanda, she was the daughter of Frederick and Margaret (Ebling) Marohn, and was a graduate of the Kenmore Schools. She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Lockport, NY.  She enjoyed traveling both in the US and abroad, and was a devoted supporter of local and
national animal welfare organizations. She taught in the Ken-Ton Schools for thirty-three years, retiring in 1987. Following retirement, she attended Medaille College, earning a degree in Veterinary Technology. She worked in that field until 1997.  
In the 1980’s she skated on an adult precision skating team for the Buffalo Skating Club and traveled to competitions throughout the U.S. and Eastern Canada. The team earned a silver medal in Nationals in 1985.

 

Predeceased by loving husband, Walter Brewer and brothers Karl F. Marohn and Robert W. Marohn Sr. Survived by nephew Robert W. Marohn Jr. (Randi) and niece Susan Marohn and grandnephews and niece.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial service Wednesday, June 11th at 11 AM at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6965 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Lockport.   Donations would be appreciated to Friends of Pets of Klamath Basin 4809 Altamont Dr. Klamath Falls, OR 97603.
