Obituary of Michele Lee Speer

Michele Lee Speer, aged 55, passed away on April 28, 2025, at 23:09 in Tyler, Texas. She was born on November 3, 1969, in Lockport, New York, to Philip and Angela Speer.

Michele was a proud Longhorn, graduating in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science as a registered nurse. Over the years, she would apply these lessons to anything she could, using her talents to settle other people’s worries or help them through medical emergencies. Learning was one of her passions and a cornerstone of her personality; there wasn’t a subject she would shy away from, a book she wouldn’t read, or conversation left unsaid. For every ounce of curiosity, Michele has ten times more generosity and kindness; she was the type of person who, even when she had nothing, always found some way to give. The most important things to her were always immaterial, she didn’t care how much money you had, nor was she one to judge your choices, passions, or otherwise. Even with everything she had going on in her life, Michele always made sure to make time for you. Her thoughtfulness and mannerisms, although quirky, always seemed to hit you a little differently, especially in times of need. There is absolutely nothing she yearned for more than for her and her family to bask in the warmth of each other’s love.

Michele was an amazing, loving mother as well as a beautiful and unique individual who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. May her soul finally get the peace it has been longing for and let her light shine on forevermore in each of our hearts as well as with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

She is lovingly survived by her two children, Abigail (24) and Joe (25); her mother, Angela; two sisters, Terrie and Sharon; fiancé, Richard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, New York 14094. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m.  Interment to follow in Cold Springs Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to John Knox Presbyterian Church, 2525 Gessner Road, Houston, Texas 77080.
