James R. Morrison, 90, of Elderwood at Lockport, NY husband of the late Shirley J. (Spencer) Morrison entered into rest on April 25, 2025.  Born on December 8, 1934 in Clearfield County, PA to the late Everett and Dorothy (Witherite) Morrison.  James was drafted and served in the US Army from October 1957 to September 1959.  He retired from Jamestown Container in 1996 after many years of employment.  James and Shirley were married on October 23, 1954 and celebrated 69 years of marriage before her passing in 2023.  He loved to work in his vegetable gardens and to do woodworking, but his greatest joy was retiring to help babysit his granddaughter, Megan.

James is survived by his daughter Teresa (Scott) Rhoades of Lockport and his granddaughter, Megan Rhoades (Eric Stein) of Lewiston.  His step-granddaughter, Elizabeth (Paul) Barnes and two step-great grandchildren Ethyn and Sydney Edmister.  Also survived by his aunt Judith Witherite  and two very special friends Doug Torrey and Roger Shull.  James was also very fond of visits from his grand fur baby, Greta.  He was predeceased by his sisters Sara and Sally.

There will be no prior visitation.  A graveside service will be held at Acacia Park Cemetery where he will be entombed.
