Obituary of Robert B. D'Alessandro
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert D’Alessandro, a devoted son, amazing brother, loyal friend, and gifted recording engineer, who left us much too soon on March 31st, 2025. His life was a beautiful symphony of love, music, and kindness that touched everyone who knew him.
Born March 14, 1957 to Pauline (Lombardo) Pritchard and the late Blase D'Alessandro, Robert grew up surrounded by music. He got his start working alongside his father and brother at Barone's Music, where his passion for sound and composition first took root. That love of music led him to the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in composition and honed his incredible talent.
As the owner of Garden Recording, Robert dedicated his life to helping artists bring their music to life. He had an incredible ear and a deep understanding of sound, and he poured his heart into every project. Through his work, he nurtured countless musicians, giving them a space to create, express, and share their art with the world.
But Robert was so much more than his work. He was the kind of friend you could always count on—a great listener, a source of warmth and laughter, and someone who made the world a little brighter just by being in it. He was a student of many things and enjoyed exercise, reading, listening to podcasts, and playing cards. His love for his family was endless, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them.
He is deeply missed by his loving mother, Pauline; his devoted siblings, Rosanne (Duane) Main and William (Jennifer) D'Alessandro; and his cherished nieces Laura (Rob) Przybysz, Alessandra (Jeff) Crofoot, and nephews William (Lauran) D’Alessandro, Andrew (Caitie) Newman, Elijah (Allison) Buongiorne and the late J.J. Newman; dear aunt, uncle, and cousins Dr. Louis & Rosalie Rosati; Michael Rosati, Stephen Rosati, AnneMarie Rosati, Lindsey Lombardo, Theresa Pollow, Michael Lombardo, Joseph Lombardo, Jeffrey Lombardo. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, his many dear friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday April 6th from 1-4 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.
