

Obituary of Viola J. Scinta
Viola J. Scinta passed away March 25, 2025, under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born August 6, 1935, in Lockport, she was the daughter of Tindaro and Prudence (Amato) Bucolo. Viola was predeceased by her husband Charles Scinta in 1999 and her daughter Prudence Scinta in January of 2025.
Viola enjoyed being surrounded by her family at her kitchen table. She always seemed to have enough food, drink and coffee for whoever showed up at her back door. She will forever be remembered for welcoming anyone, friends as well as family, with her relentless offers of food and drink. She will be missed by her neighborhood family that always kept a watchful eye and took care of one another.
Viola is survived by her children Roy (Annie) Scinta, Rosemary (late Thomas) Rongo, Daniel (Marcia) Scinta, and Anne (Robert) Klumpp; grandchildren Michael (Michelle) Scinta, Phillip (late Tierney) Rongo, Matthew Rongo, Brianna Scinta, Carlie Klumpp, and Olivia Klumpp; great grandchild Ayvah Rongo. Viola had eleven siblings; Anna (late Theodore) Kyzmir, Linda (late Edward) Rice, Michael Bucolo, and predeceased by Santo, Daniel, Roy (late Marcia) Bucolo, Frances (late Felix) Reale, Sarah (late Donald) Whitney, Prudence (late Frank) Allen; Lena (late Richard) Randall and Stephanie. Viola is also survived by two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Marie Bucolo, Richard and Eleanor Scinta. She is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, March 27th from 4-7 PM at Prudden And Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 28th at 10 AM at All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
