Lorraine "Rainie" Shelton passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 15, 2025, with her daughter by her side at home. She was born on August 17, 1932, in Oil City, PA, to Patrick and Lorraine (Aubrey) Madriska.

Rainie worked as a nurses' aide at Inter-Community Hospital, Newfane, and Mount View. For the past 21 years, she worked as a Niagara Senior Companion. She was a member of the VFW, Eastern Star, Newfane Golden Agers, and bowled in the Murphy League. She loved bingo, going to the Casino, attending concerts and always had a smile on her face.

Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Joe Shelton, her loving son, Lewis Wright, her parents, Lorraine and Patrick Madriska, and her brother, Patrick Madriska Jr. She is survived by her children: Lorrie (Gregory Maguire) Wright of Boston, MA, and Larry (Joanne) Wright of Rochester, NY; her grandchildren: Brianna (Landon Miller) Wright of Albany, NY and Corey Wright; of Rochester, NY her best friend, Jane Crowe; of Lockport, NY and dear friends, Gladys Kitchell and family of East Hampstead, NH and Jackie Pratt of Lockport, NY.

No longer held back by her earthly limitations, like a butterfly, she is flying free, Lorraine is at peace and surrounded by God’s grace and love. Let us remember her and celebrate her life.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, January 31st, from 4-7 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st, at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church St., Lockport. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Cold Springs Cemetery.
