Obituary of Alice B. Ersing
Alice Betsey Ersing passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024. Born on July 23, 1941 in Dunkirk, NY, the daughter of the late Alton and Dolores Kolpien, Betsey could light up a room and always put a smile on your face.
A treasured friend to many, she had a great sense of humor and was always ready to share an unforgettable story, a warm smile, and a kind heart. Above all, Betsey found immense joy in sharing with others - friends, family or complete strangers - how much she adored her family and how proud she was of her grandchildren, her “angels”.
Betsey was predeceased by her husband, James Ersing; infant daughter, Tracey Ann; and brother, Alton Kolpien, Jr. She is survived by her children Mark (Rachel) Ersing, Kelli (Kevin) Hardiman; grandchildren Marina, Catalena, Mia, Lily, Archer, and Aurelia; sisters Melisa (Chris) Eichmann and Janis (Ron) Boquin, and brother, Douglas Keith.
She enjoyed dancing, camping, and traveling and was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan. An avid reader, she finished many volumes each week and cultivated a love of reading in her children. Betsey was a retired executive secretary for Barden Homes and an active, dedicated member of Christ Episcopal Church and Barge Canal Optimist Club.
A celebration of a life well lived will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, call on an old friend, tell a tastefully dirty joke, scream "Go Bills," and make the most of every day with your loved ones. In her own words, “This is not goodbye, only "See you later, my beloveds.”
