Joanne S. Witjes Obituary

Joanne S. Witjes passed away April 30, 2024 in Niagara Hospice House.  Born March 15, 1938 in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of Clifford and Ruth (Raines) Myers.  She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School Class of 1956 and was the secretary of the maintenance department at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston.  Joanne enjoyed quilting and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.  She was predeceased by her husband Herman Witjes in 2017.


Joanne is survived by her daughters Lori (Robert) Cammarata and Michele Elliott; grandchildren Derek Cammarata, Michael (Brooke) Cammarata, Maureen Elliott, and Corrin (Migual) Castrejon; great grandchildren Samuel J. Cammarata and Anthony M. Cammarata; brother Paul Myers and also several nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband she was also predeceased by her brother Richard Myers.


Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Saturday, June 1st at 11 AM at St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Niagara Falls (Bergholtz).  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
