Laverne M. Rongo Obituary

Laverne M. Rongo passed away May 11, 2022 in Elderwood at Lockport.  Born March 19, 1923 in Lockport she was the daughter of Stephen and Florence (Ives) Gartner.  Laverne graduate high school in 1941 and worked for Niagara County Department of Social Services where she was the phone operator.  She enjoyed reading, playing BINGO, and loved flowers.  Laverne is predeceased by her husband Richard Rongo in 1975 and her siblings Ralph Gartner and Mary Ruth (late Richard) Shipley.


Laverne is survived by her three sons Daniel P. Rongo, David M. Rongo, and James R. (Linda) Rongo; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; also survived by daughter-in-law Anne Rongo, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Relatives and friends may call Saturday, May 14th from 1-3 PM with services following at 3 PM all in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
