Melvin Chausse Obituary

Melvin J. Chausse passed away May 1, 2009 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born March 20, 1938 in Lockport he was the son of the late Melvin P. and Mary (Eifert) Chausse. Melvin was a policeman for the City of Lockport for 35 years retiring as Captain in 1995. Melvin was a member of the NRA, Eagles #825, PBA, Hickory Club, NYS Retired Chief and Captains Association, Cub Scout Master for 17 years at Anna Merritt School and also was a leader for the Police Explorer 10-4 Group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a 30 year season ticket holder of the Buffalo Bills. Besides his parents Melvin was also predeceased by his daughter Karen Marie Chausse.


Melvin is survived by his wife Dolores M. (Savittiere) Chausse of Lockport; cherished uncle to John (Lisa) Godfrey, Theresa (Gerald) O'Brien and Steven Godfrey all of Lockport; Papa to Andrew Godfrey, Alex Cappola, Tyler and Jacob Godfrey; brother of the late Ida Woods; also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.


Relatives and friends may call Monday 4 to 9 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport.


Interment

Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
