Betty Gadsden passed away April 22, 2009 after a long illness. Born August 5, 1945 in Arcadia, FL she was the daughter of Robert and Erma (Johnson) Clark. Betty worked as a clerk for Peter Dry Cleaning, Lockport. She enjoyed reading the bible, playing games especially Yahtzee and drinking Pepsi. Betty was the glue that held her family together and will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel Gadsden.
Betty is survived by her children Christopher Griffin, Beverly Griffin and Kristle Alston-Mohammad; grandmother of thirteen, great grandmother of one; sister of Johnnie Mae Morant, Rufus Clark, Ernie Clark, Vera Brown, Stella Jackson, Barbara Jean Beauford, Milton Clark, Catherine Johnson, Wayne Clark, Gwendolyn Oest, Beverly Clark, Charles Clark and the late Ruth McKenzie; godmother of Gwen Beauford and Barbara Smith; special sister-in-law Gloria Clark; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM.
