Arthur L. Starks, resident of Briarwood Manor, passed away April 28, 2010 in Niagara Hospice House. Born July 9, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA he was the son of Calvin and Ella Mae (Sims) Starks. Arthur served in the US Army from 1943 to 1945 during WW II. While in service he earned the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the EAME Service Medal. Arthur worked in production at General Motors, Buffalo retiring in 1982 and after retirement worked security. He was a life member of the Tonawanda Sportsman Gun Club. Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, and target shooting. He was predeceased by his wife Rose Starks in 2004.
Arthur is survived by his children Calvin (Pam) Starks of Lockport and Juanita Goodwin of Buffalo; grandfather of six and great grandfather of six.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday 11-12 Noon at Friendship Baptist Church, 5652 Saunders Settlement Road, Lockport where funeral services will immediately follow at 12 Noon.
