Thomas James Horan

Thomas James Horan, 54, passed away quietly and unexpectedly on 3rd of March 2019 at his home in Lockport. Tom was born on June 9th, 1964 in Lockport to the late Harriet and Norman Horan. He graduated from Lockport Senior High School and later pursued a degree in Computer Technology from ITT Technical Institute.  After graduation, Tom was hired by Ingram Micro specializing in design and configuration of power backup systems for IT data center and server room applications.  He had worked for Ingram Micro for the past 21 years and enjoyed the work and his fellow Ingram staff.

Tom had also enlisted on 01/20/1982 into the New York Army National Guard.  He attended Basic and Combat Engineer Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.  He served in C CO 102nd Engineer Battalion in Lockport, until he was honorably discharged on 01/19/1988. He held the rank of Specialist upon discharge.

In his spare time Tom enjoyed his time with his dear friends, and their “hunting” trips, computer gaming, and building various computer systems in his home.

He is survived by his sister Adrienne (Horan) Sutton, brother-in law Gregory Sutton, nephews Nicholas Sutton, Christopher Sutton, and niece Emily Hartje (Rob). Also survived by grand nephews Jackson and Bennett Sutton, his Aunt and Uncle Janet and Franklin Berent and several other cousins and relatives.

Visitation Friday, 4-6pm at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home,242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Memorial service to follow at 6 PM.  Interment will be at Acacia Park Cemetery at a later date as determined by the family. Memorials accepted at the American Heart Association.
