In 1956, our mom & dad bought their first house. It was a beautiful summer day in July with dad at work, mom and I unpacking. I was 9, Kathy 2, when a teenage girl came bouncing in the open door. She announced, "I'm Carol Sparks and I'm your next-door neighbor." Carol was 14.
That was the start of a beautiful relationship. Carol was like a daughter to mom and dad, and a big sister and best friend to me. I was honored to be a junior bridesmaid in Carol and Brian's wedding.
The love between Carol and Kathy was very special. They would call each other at any hour when needing a friend.
Our brother Michael, born in 1963, loved Carol like a sister. He and his family always visited her when in Lockport.
We want to let all of Carol's family know how sorry we are for your loss. She loves you with all heart and soul.
