Harold R. Winkley, 82, passed away of a long illness, leaving his wife Emily of 45 years; preceded by his father Raymond, mother Mable and brothers Robert and Edwin R. (Ada) Winkley; survived by daughter Amy (Robert) Mahon, 2 sons Todd (Tammy) Winkley and Thomas (Debbie) Winkley; brothers and sisters-in-law and mother-in-law Imojean Rider; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews on both sides of his family. Born in Medina lived in Middleport until marrying Emily, moved to Lockport Harold was a member of Middleport Fire Dept. as a Fire Policeman. Served in the United States Air Force Air Defense as a weapons machinist on jet fighters from May 1957 to May 1961 during the Cold War at McGuire Air Base in New Jersey and later at Dover Air Base in Delaware and a couple other air bases. Harold worked at Middleport Lumber, Simons Saw & Steel, Fisher Price, and other jobs driving truck. He retired from Ridge Road Express where he was a bus driver. Harold enjoyed trains, planes, fishing, and wildlife. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at 2 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Visit pruddenandkandt.com
