Charles A. Behe, 80, of Lockport received his crown of glory Friday, November 24, 2017. He entered into rest under the caring hands of Niagara Hospice, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Lockport June 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles T and Frieda (Meyer) Behe. He was a truck driver most of his life. Charles married the late Carol (Budde) Behe on September 5, 1959. He loved working the ground, planting and harvesting, hunting, skeet and trap shooting, reading and spending time with his family and friends. Charles was a long-time member of the Loyal Order of the Moose LockCity, 617, earning the Order's highest honor of Pilgrim degree. He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Stuart) Briggs, Shirley (Richard) Behe-Richter and Charles "Gus" (Jacqueline) Behe; his "lady friend" Shirley Long; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Joan (Roger) Miner; and brother Phillip (Cheryl) Behe; brother-in-laws Charles (Marilynn) and Raymond (Patricia) Budde; sister-in-law Marjorie Nayman; several nieces, nephews and Godchildren. There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7147 Ridge Road, Lockport, where he served as an Elder, with Rev. Kenneth Craig officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
