Thomas J. Mayer, 93, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his residence. Born on September 12, 1924 in Cambria, NY, he was the son of Oscar A. and Euretta (Gerlach) Mayer. Thomas worked at Harrison Radiator for 22 years retiring in 1986. He also worked at Ray Murphy Appliances. Thomas enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting and helping with the maple syrup production. Thomas is survived by his wife of 71 years, H. Audrey (Purtell) Mayer; father of Kenneth (Susan) Mayer, Kathy Mayer, Thomas J. (Debbie) Mayer, Jr and Debra (Martin) Perilli; grandfather of 12; great-grandfather of 18 and great- great-grandfather of 1; brother of the late Louis, Harvey, Kenneth, Allen, Jack Mayer, Ruth Wiggins, Jean Knauer, Monica Molyneaux, Natalie Hambruch, Vernly Antonich and Grace Litz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call on Tuesday September 19th from 3 – 7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St. where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
