Obituary of William C. Lucas

On Easter Sunday morning Bill went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born August 1944, the son of Clifford and Anne Lucas of Ransomville, NY. Bill volunteered to serve during the Vietnam War, and extended over while in country, doing three tours He earned the following medals: Good Conduct, National Defense, Sharpshooter M-14, Vietnam Service with three stars, Vietnam Campaign, 2 Army Commendations (1 with an Oak leaf Cluster) presented to him by General Westmoreland, 3 Bar Over Seas, New York Conspicuous Cross and the Army Meritorious Unit Citation. His rank was E-5. After his return home, he met his wife Blanche nee Turner introduced by Ronnie and Janet Shultz. They shared a life spanning of 48 years. Proud loving dad to two daughters, Rebecca (Dan) Human, BillieJo (Sam) Vella. Doting Papa to Roman, Gianna, Henry and Harper. Brother to Carole (Howard) Records and the late Jane Coleman and Frank Lucas and an exceptional man he called both family and nephew Theodore (Janel) Purvis and Bill Duxberry. And the people who round one's life and just make life better. Friends: Dick Coulson, Elizabeth, Jay Marsh, Charlie Moore, Mark Butts, Dave Spencer, Dick Clark, Chris (primetime) Ret. Pastor Anthony Fischer, Ret. Pastor William Lowery Sr. and Pastor Bill Lowery Jr. and all of the Golding family. He belonged to the Lockport V.F.W. Vietnam Veterans of America #77, Disabled American Veterans, Past President Lockport Shrine Club, Ismailia Shrine, 32 degree of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Buffalo, Lockport #73 Masons, past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Hog's and Hero's where they named him Legend. His whole life was devoted to giving and helping others, Flowers are gratefully declined and monetary donations of course to the charity of your choice. His request is that you give the gift of life. Donate blood at Roswell, be a bone marrow donor (it just takes your blood) or be an organ donor. A Tribute to his life will start at 11AM, Saturday. May 6th at Ransomville Free Methodist Church, Ransomville, NY. A luncheon to follow. He's requested a last ride, Kickstands up at 1:15, assemble in church parking lot. He will be escorted by the Patriot Riders and Hogs and Heros Chapter #1 to the Hartland Cemetery on Route 104. But please All modes of transportation are welcome.
