Obituary of Lorraine M. Sullivan

Lorraine Margaret (nee Crome) Sullivan passed into eternal rest to be with her beloved Edward on March 22, 2017. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Margaret Crome and her sister Delores Thomas. Lorraine was born on March 31, 1926 in Batavia, New York where she grew up and graduated from Batavia High School. Lorraine devoted her life to providing a loving home to her husband and three children, Sheila Kathryn (Robert) Simons, Joseph (Nancy) Sullivan and Timothy (Jill ) Sullivan. She was an avid bridge player and member of several Lockport area bridge clubs. Lorraine was past President of the Lockport Hospital Guild, a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Church and an active volunteer in her childrens' schools. The real highlights of Lorraine's life were her four grandchildren Bridget (Jonathan) Ritch, Gretchen Sullivan, Margret Mary (David) Lester and Benjamin Sullivan. She and Ed spent countless hours with them on a variety of excursions like going to the Zoo, Christmas shopping, picnics, and just hanging out at 27 Priscilla Lane watching movies, playing croquet and baking cookies. Lorraine was recently blessed with 3 great grandchildren, McKenna and Conner Ritch and Henry Lester. In her retirement years Lorraine took up the game of golf, enjoyed sailing the waters of Lake Ontario, traveled the world and spent many an enjoyable evening with her and Ed's card club friends. She was an ardent Buffalo Bills fan and season ticket holder. The family will be present at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, NY on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 3:00pm - 7:00pm to receive family and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2016 at 9:30am at the former St. Joseph's Church on Market St. in Lockport.
