Obituary of Margaret Mary Zimmer

Margaret (Peg) Zimmer passed away in her home under the care of Niagara Hospice on January 14, 2017 at the age of 76. Born in the First Ward of Buffalo, she was the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Evoy) Zimmer. She entered the Sisters of Mercy and during her thirty years she served as a teacher, principal, pastoral associate and missionary in the Philippines. After leaving the community, she became a nurse and served as a Hospice nurse in Georgia and Florida. She is survived by her dear friend and caregiver, Susan, her 'adoptive' family and many cousins. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Niagara Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 21st at 2 PM.
